The truth is it took me two pregnancies and 5 years to walk us through those golden, vanilla-scented gates.
How I earned FREE Disneyland Admission Tickets
It all started long ago with the whole, “A Dream is a Wish that your Heart makes…” I always knew I would want to take my kids to Disneyland. I’ve been going since I was a kid, so I’ve been dreaming of this trip with my kids since before I can remember. The motivation to begin planning came from, {Ta-Da!} our first pregnancy with Cash in 2012.
Visa Disney Rewards Card
Hooray! I was pregnant! The time would eventually come to take my real, actual kids {no longer dreams} on a Disney Vacation. As soon as we scheduled our first prenatal appointment I also applied for the Visa Disney Rewards Card. This is not just a slick ad for their credit… I make no commission or earnings by referring you to it! I had saved a pin in 2010 {yep, 2-years pre-baby} on the best way to save money for Disneyland and this card was the key!
Earning Rewards Points
I know I said Free Disneyland Admission Tickets, and that’s true! No money was paid out of our accounts for them. I redeemed points for them with “free money” that I earned. As soon as I got the Disney Credit Card in hand, I started using it to pay for everything Pregnancy and Baby related. It’s actually a real-life tip to open a credit card for a major life event and rack up the points! Since you’re guaranteed to be spending money for a set amount of time, you should dip into any point system you can. I chose Disney Rewards because of my Disneyland vacation goals. I’ve been putting all of my family expenses, including Wyatt’s pregnancy through to current. In 5 years, we earned $1,500+ in rewards dollars!
I consider this rewards money to be free because: It’s Cash Back Rewards on purchases I would be making anyway, from this specific credit card. Therefore, if I wasn’t making purchases with this Visa Disney Rewards Card, that $1,500 wouldn’t even exist for me. I’ve done nothing special but spend money I would have spent anyway and got rewarded for it! To me, that makes the money FREE!

Redeeming Rewards Dollars
Your earned rewards dollars expire every five years. So, our intention had always been to take the boys right before the points expired, at ages 4 and 3. All I had to do was log in to my Chase account and transfer the rewards dollars on to a Disney Points Redemption Card. They loaded the card with my $1,500+ and mailed it to me. After receiving the Redemption card I called Disneyland and ordered my 4 Free Disneyland Admission Tickets. Less than a week later they were in my hot little hand and I was taking my crew to Disneyland. We call that major #momwinning friends!
Applying for a Credit Card
A little disclaimer on this post… Applying for a Credit Card is no small thing. I want you to take into consideration all of the terms and conditions before you apply. Yes, the redemption system worked great for me, but it may not be the smartest decision for everyone. You cannot miss a payment on your card, or you risk losing your rewards.
