How to Make Earth Day Seed Bombs

Earth Day Seed Bombs will Rock Your World! If you’re coming over from the How to make Seed Bombs Post or even clicked through from the Lavender Seed Bombs Post, you’re in the right spot. In this post we’re still celebrating Teacher Appreciation Week by telling your favorite teachers, “You’re the Bomb!” but we’re highlighting our You Rock My World Seed Bombs and Appreciation Cards.

Earth Day Projects might be my favorite lessons to teach. Earth Day also falls right around Teacher Appreciation Week, so combine the two! My boys LOVED making these DIY Seed Bombs to give to their Teachers for Teacher Appreciation Week. This would be a great Preschool Earth Day Lesson too! DIY Seed Bombs were fun, simple and cheap, plus the boys did it all on their own. I highly recommend this Kids DIY Project Idea for Mother's Day Gifts, Teacher Appreciation Week Gifts, Gifts for Grandmas and Earth Day Craft Projects.

What you need for Earth Day Seed Bombs:

The Tools List is exactly the same as before in the How to Make Seed Bombs Post and you already have most of it at home. Tools you’ll need include:

  • Mini Muffin Tin for drying
  • Bowl for Mixing
  • Wisk for Mixing
  • Measuring Cup
  • 1/4 Cup Warm Water
  • 1/4 Cup All-Purpose Flour

Ingredients you’ll need to obtain include:

Perennial Blue Flower Seeds

When I think of Earth Day Seed Bombs I always lean towards Blue Flowers for some reason. The Earth Day Seed Bombs themselves are designed to resemble the planet Earth, so the symmetry fits in my mind. I also think that they should be perennial seeds, meaning they come back year after year because, well when I think of Earth Day I like to celebrate that it will still be here year after year!

I also imagine that this Earth Day Seed Project might be a fun Earth Day activity for a classroom or large group, so I might suggest buying flower seeds in bulk. I found this Blue Flower Seed Assortment on Amazon for a great deal!

Seed Bomb Paper Kits

These are the foundation for the Seed Bombs. I have put together a few color combinations in my Etsy Shop for you to use but for this recipe, you’ll want to select the Earth Day Seed Bombs Paper Kit. The Seed Bomb Paper Kits are the perfect amount of recycled, biodegradable paper to use in your Seed Bomb. The Earth Day Seed Bombs Kit contains 3 colors that you mix together. The amount in the Seed Bomb Paper Kits yields about 3 Seed Bombs when your project is finished. This is if you’re using the size for the Appreciation Cards. You can absolutely make smaller Seed Bombs too.
