How to Separate Kids for Nap Time

The Sweet & Sticky {Cash & Wyatt} share a bedroom and they always have. We’ve had our bumps in the road with that like all kids do who try to coexist. But, our biggest obstacle lately has been the afternoon nap time. Cash loves it, Wyatt hates it, I desperately need it, especially midweek when I need to write {it’s nap time now!} Cash loves to have a dark room with his blackout curtains and lots of fuzzy blankets. Wyatt hates to be shut in a dark room and never stops talking to Cash, much less falls asleep.

So, we made some changes. These changes though needed some convincing. Wyatt, though he doesn’t like to nap, doesn’t like to be separated from Cash either. That’s where my friends at California Design Den came in. I was in desperate need of something exciting to make Wyatt want to leave his brother alone and also sleep. Then it hit me, SHEETS! I decided to let Wyatt pick out special sheets that only he would get to use during his “Special Nap Time” in the guest room.
Making Nap Time Special
It was February when this happened, Wyatt had just turned 4, so I was coasting on the “Big Boy now” theme and him being “all grown up” and “big enough now” to sleep in the special big bed. We went to look online for new sheets and right there, first thing, were these big beautiful Snowflake Sheets from California Design Den. Wyatt immediately said, “I’ll be covered in SNOW!!” #momwinning #addtocart Wyatt LOVES snow and had recently been obsessed with playing outside in it, right up until he gets super cold and grumpy. Hot Bath, straight into pajamas, straight back into his special snowflake sheets. The fun never ends!

Why they work for us
Nap Time was a success. Their storefront rings true. A few details that Wyatt really loved is the cool, clean feeling that the combed cotton process provided. We could both feel the difference. I noticed it right when I stretched them over the mattress when I put them on that they were very durable and smooth, despite not being starched. Often times when I put on sheets that are thin, they tend to look baggy and cling to your legs a bit. Wyatt hates that. He wears fleece pajamas and is always making us lay a blanket down on top of then so they’re more “slippery” on his legs. If you’ve got a kid at home who doesn’t like extra textures on their legs of feet, these are your winning sheets. They’re smooth and straight at all times.
I did wash them before I put them on the bed and that whole process was great. They did
