If you’re taking two kids to Disneyland for 3 Days, like me, your head is probably spinning with what all you need to bring in to Disneyland for survival purposes. My first thought when we started planning for this trip, before even what I was wearing, was What I’m Bringing to Disneyland. Then, how am I going to carry it all day long? Your first step should be to investigate the Disneyland Website and see what you’re not allowed to bring in and then work backward from there. Here is their official list of items not permitted into the Park. Your next step should be to determine your carrying method.
What I’m Bringing to Disneyland
I had to do some critical thinking about how I wanted to disperse the load of stuff I’m bringing to Disneyland. After having two children I’m not as aligned physically as I used to be.
The thought of a double strap backpack pulling me backward all day made me cringe, so I looked for something else.
Even more on that same thought, I planned to take in at least 2 of my books. That would make the bag that much heavier, so the structure really needed to be sound. Here is my book list, although I’m not taking all of them in. I am however reading them on the airplane!
Disneyland Books
- Secrets of Disneyland- Hardcover
- The Unofficial Guide to Disneyland 2018

Crossbody Backpack
Back to business… I went with the Crossbody Backpack from Outdoor Master. I found it on Amazon. When I read the description, especially the weight of it, I knew it would work. It is small enough to fit inside my carry-on too! Now that We’ve covered my carrying method lets talk my other essentials. Seriously, the first thing I ordered when we set the dates for our trip were these Mouse Ear Headbands. You can get a 12 Pack of Mouse Ear Headbands for just over $1 each. That sure beats the price inside the park! I also bought this Canvas Sling Backpack in case I wanted to carry a smaller bag for the kids, but we’ll see if I actually use it.
When it came to deciding what all I am bringing to Disneyland with me I had three main goals. One, carry everything I needed for two kids, or everything they would need. Two, bring all of my camera stuff. Then finally, First Aid essentials… because I know the first thing Wyatt is going to do is skin his knee somehow.
Running Belt
Did you know they reinvented the fanny pack? It’s true. They’re called Running Belts now. It’s a good thing too because I’m going to need it. Most of my What I’m Wearing to Disneyland outfits, do not have pockets. Remember my Minnie Mouse Skirt? So I am wearing my pretty awesome GearWear Running Belt Pack under every outfit to carry all of my band-aids, chapstick, and other pocket worthy things. Remember that knee skinning I know will happen? I bought a whole stock of these Coverlet 4-Wing Band-Aids just for knees! I also got these Sensitive Skin bandages and this whole Band-Aid Variety Pack which included Mickey Mouse Band-Aids!
Basic Park Essentials
These next few items are things that I think every parent should plan on bringing to Disneyland with them if they have small children. Of course, too, you can’t leave for Disneyland without your Fly Girl Lipsense and your Bright Red Insta-Dri Nail Polish!
Write on Emergency Band-Aids
These handy little guys allow you to write your phone number on your child in the event that he or she gets lost. This apparently happens all the time at Disneyland which is no surprise. If you and your child do get separated in Disneyland, a cast member will escort your child to the Baby Center & Lost Child Facility, right at the front of the park. The key is to educate your child before going to Disneyland, that if they get lost, they need only find a cast member, in the nearest shop or dining area. All cast members are trained to handle lost children. One product I did not buy, only because I think it would cause more problems with my kids playing with it, is the Anti-Lost Wrist Link which I hear many parents enjoy using to ease their lost child anxiety in public places.
Cell Phone Accessories
There will be a lot riding on your phone all day long at Disneyland. Whether you’re using the Disneyland App, taking pictures, or calling people in your group, your battery will eventually die. I am bringing 2 back up portable phone chargers. The Anker Astro Portable Charger is a heavy duty one which should get me through the day. But I did buy an additional $5 one at Target because I saw it in the checkout line and, well… {#targetdoesitagain} My phone is an S8, which apparently decided to be different than all the cords ever created. I bought several small Samsung Short Cords for adapters to use in my chargers. You may not need these. Just check your equipment. Finally, on the tech side, I bought a white cellphone case, Samsung S8 Cover. You’re probably thinking, why? I will tell you. My current one is green, which will clash in all the pictures, and I’m not a fan of clashing in my pictures. {#instamom #everythingiscoordinated}
Final List
Wallet & Water
Some would argue that these are really the only two things you should be bringing to Disneyland. Your phone would be the obvious third. I did take these two things very seriously, though. My current wallet is full of a lot of stuff that probably doesn’t need to come into the park with me. So I downsized to this absolutely adorable Mickey Mouse Wallet which has just enough room for my cards and cash. This might be my favorite thing I’ve bought for this trip! Then for water, these bottles double as our airport water bottles too. I went with the Bobble Filter Water Bottles 2-Pack because well, I’m a water snob. These bottles are the perfect size for the Crossbody backpack, but they also include a filter. If I’m going to be drinking water from this bottles, the filter was necessary.
DollarTree Toys
I know this sounds random, but I’m bringing souvenier toys into the Park… If you recall from my DollarTree Disneyland Post, I’m bringing in a few small toys to save me some money in the gift shops, but also to perk up an unhappy camper if we should have one standing in line. These baby might save me from a meltdown at the right price of only $1.
Camera Momma Stuff
Now, of course, being a clickn’ Mom, I have to bring my Canon Rebel Camera. It is the Camera of Parents after all. Make no confusion though, I am no photographer. I’m just a mom who likes to take lots of pictures! That said, I like to be prepared. One of my all-time favorite gifts is my Camera Coat & Strap which I received as a gift. It can be found on Etsy! Then just like my cell phone before, I don’t want my battery to die halfway through the day, so I’m bringing a new 2-Pack of Canon Rebel Batteries. I am also bringing along an extra ScanDisk Memory Cards 32GB in the event that I fill my first one up before the trip ends. 😉
How does it all fit together?
Now the big question I think you’re all wondering… How does it all fit together? This is a lot of stuff here! But Guess what? It all fits together very nicely 🙂 This is all I’m taking into the park with me. And, there is plenty of room for snacks!
I’m done Adulting… Let’s go to Disneyland!
