You’ve got a letter! In the Mail Rubbish… The first Clue on the Harry Potter, Wizarding World, Who Done It Mystery game takes us back to Privet Drive and Uncle Vernon’s Rubbish. I loved the idea of seeing kids dig through Hogwarts Letters to find the one from the Professor who sent the Mystical Wand of Fire.

Mail Rubbish Clue 1 – Directions:

This is one of those classic scenes in the movie you always hope to replicate at a Harry Potter Party and it did not disappoint. All our kids LOVED ripping into this Wizard Mail, or according to Uncle Vernon, rubbish. From my rental inventory I used a folding table and ruffled linen, then some assorted waste baskets. I used four so that each house could dig through one. I also hid one piece of the letter in each bin!

All of the directions for setting up this Clue “station” are in the Printable on Etsy, but here they are as well:

Print the Letter from Professor P.
Cut up or leave it whole and enclose it in one or many envelopes.
Build an Uncle Vernon rubbish box with a cardboard box.
Seal an excessive amount of envelopes of all sizes.
Place the letter (or cut it up into pieces and separate it) in an envelope then mix in so it’s well hidden.
Cut/Frame the 4″x6″ Directions for players/kids/wizards.- I got mine at the Dollar Tree.

How to Pass this Clue:

Passing this CLue is simple enough. Your party guests just have to locate all four pieces of the letter and re-assemble it to read it aloud. It guides you over to Clue 2, The Cupboard Under the Stairs.
