How to keep track of your Summer Schedule with a Magnetic Weekly Planner

How to keep track of your Summer Schedule. How to Plan your Week. Magnetic Weekly Planners. Weekly Planner Reviews. Flat Harmony Weekly Planners. Dry-Erase Magnetic Weekly Planners. Gift Ideas for moms. How to Organize your Week. Organizing tools for moms. Mom Planning tools. Fertility Tracker. Summer time for moms can be very difficult. With the kids being out of school and vacations, even day trips for that matter, I often feel like I may lose my little mind trying to keep track of all our schedules. I swear I fall asleep on Sunday night, wake up, and it’s Wednesday. If it weren’t for a very convenient and well positioned Magnetic Weekly Planner in our house we would completely fall apart.

Magnetic Weekly Planners

There is so much to love about an organizational system you can interact with easily. Magnetic Weekly Planners might be the perfect communication tool for several reasons including Location, Structure, and Versatility.

Location

Our Magnetic Weekly Planner lives on the refrigerator which is truly the nucleus of our household. Everyone walks by it and you can see it immediately when you walk in the door. I love that it is eye level so I can catch new details my husband has added while I was out of the house. There are a few other places I could put another including my office door, which is metal, and magnetic! Ta-da! {I really should have two!}

Structure

Our Magnetic Weekly Planner from Flat Harmony is BIG. It is 17” x 12” which really makes it look like its own piece of artwork on your fridge. Bonus, they ship it to you flat so there are no fold lines! The writing side is laminated so that it wipes clean easily. My favorite part might be the large section at the bottom for extra Notes and important details. Right now, I have our family, color-coded legend there so we know who is included in the upcoming events.

How to keep track of your Summer Schedule. How to Plan your Week. Magnetic Weekly Planners. Weekly Planner Reviews. Flat Harmony Weekly Planners. Dry-Erase Magnetic Weekly Planners. Gift Ideas for moms. How to Organize your Week. Organizing tools for moms. Mom Planning tools. Fertility Tracker. Versatility

Presently, I’m using our Magnetic Weekly Planner to keep track of all our outing and events. In the summer, most of our chaos comes from the places we must be, pack for and events we’re expected to attend or prepare for. In one week, as you can see, we had a few Day Trips, a Birthday Party, and a River Rafting adventure. This is just the busiest time of the year for us and these are the hardest things for me to wrap my head around as a mom. If I didn’t walk by them, and see them on the Magnetic Weekly Planner I would surely forget to prepare for something.

I’m sure I’ll be using this in the fall for school homework assignments and field trips. I’ll have to write down the days I’m volunteering in the classroom as I’m sure I’ll be trading around with other moms and I’ll never keep all of that straight in my own head. Then when the holidays c ome around, it will be nice to keep track of when and where we must be all over again!

Are you ready to organize your chaotic schedule? I’m glad I did! This convenient Magnetic Planner is one more item I’m adding to my Summer Essentials List for Moms!

On My Bookshelf – #BabyLove: My Toddler Life | Book Review

Children's Books for Moms to read. #BabyLove: My Toddler Life. Summer Children's Books. Books for Social Media MomsSummer is the perfect time to build up your bookshelf. It is also the time when we moms really star  t taking pictures of those precious summer memories. Or, if you’re like me, you’re taking pictures all day long. Whether you’re an avid scrapbook-er, home video maker, social media influencer, etc. I bet you’re taking as many pictures of your kids as possible because, well, that’s our generation. But how many times are you in front of that camera? Better yet, how many times have you been fully present in the fun that’s happening in front of that camera? I asked myself these same questions recently and then coincidentally found this Children’s book.

#BabyLove: My Toddler Life

This is a children’s book written and illustrated by Corine Dehghanpisheh that walks through a typical day with Baby, Mommy, and the Smartphone. She has written a clever, sing-song story that kids can follow along with and even relate to. The pictures are vibrant and accurate, perfect to keep your little one’s attention.

How I relate to #BabyLove

The story she tells is basically my life. I am home all day with my kids and I am constantly on my phone for several reasons:

1- Work. There are only so many minutes in the day so I have to multitask to pay the bills. The second I sit down at a computer my children go berzerk… so phone it is!

2- Pictures. Not only am I documenting their activities for my Blog, but I’m documenting our day to share with their dad. He’s gone most of the week and when he gets home late at night I am way too tired to tell him what all we did, much less remember it all. If it weren’t for the chronological picture library I really wouldn’t know what happened 8 hours ago.

3- Videos. Our family lives hours away and I want them to share in my boys’ lives so I send them funny videos.

Why you should read it with your kids

The message my kids get when they read this Children’s book is that they’re normal. They see a kid wanting to pick up Mommy’s phone and play with the “precious device she is obsessed with” is a common kid desire. The book also helps them to understand, just a little bit, of why Mommy is using her phone all day to take pictures of how awesome they are, obviously. In the book, Mommy catches her son playing with her Phone and has the opportunity to sit down with him and show him that she’s been documenting his play and that’s why she “doesn’t play with” him. Which we as moms know all too well, however…

The Most Important Message

The point is, regardless of why you’re on your phone all day, which believe me I know is important, are you actually missing more than you’re catching? And by catching I mean taking pictures of. Yes, I’m there, clicking away and recording their activities, progress, talents, and humor for the world to see, but am I really participating in it?  At some point, you’ve taken enough pictures and it’s time to put down the phone and pick up a Lego.

Summer Essentials for Rough & Tumble – Awesome Boys | Original Blends Styling Gel Giveaway

Summer Essentials for Rough & Tumble, Awesome Boys. Boys of Summer. Must Have Summer Products. Stuff for boys. Moms of Boys. Gifts for Boys. Original Blends Styling Gel. Boys with Mohawks. Tough Kids. Aviators for kids. I happen to be the mom of a very rough & tumble, totally awesome boy. Many of you know my son Wyatt, who is 2.5 years old. He has his own hashtag on Instagram… Last week he held a 30-second plank, took a bite out of his brother and did a major face plant on his bike, then hopped right back on it. {wearing a helmet of course} He is one tough cookie. I confess, some days it is hard to be his mom, but he is everything I want in a son, brave & fearless. As we head into summer I plan a little differently for Wyatt than I do for Cash. His Summer Essentials are a little more “fitting” we could say to his personality.

Wyatt’s Mohawk

It came time to cut the boys’ hair. Cash got the clean cut that he usually does, but we went a new direction with the Wy-Guy. In preparation for Summer, we decided to give the little daredevil a perfect haircut that reflects his personality. It may or may not also serve as a warning to those who approach… 😉

Original Blends Styling Gel

To pull off Wyatt’s Mohawk all summer I knew I would need a pretty decent stock of Styling Gel. Enter, Original Blends Styling Gel. Their gel is a vegan hair product that is never tested on animals. It is made with flaxseed and soy protein which provides shine and hold. {We have never had a flaky residue on Wyatt’s Mohawk!} I love that it doesn’t contain alcohol which can dry out hair and cause breakage.

It smells like Heaven…

Among all these great product qualities that I can tell you about forever, I cannot share with you over the Internet how amazing it smells. It looks like honey in a jar, although it is so smooth, and it smells like a field of tropical flowers. When Wyatt has it in his Mohawk I carry him around a little extra and cannot stop kissing his precious {badass} head. As they say on their website, “If the honey-like appearance doesn’t get you to try it, then as soon as you smell it you’ll be sold.”

Summer Mohawk Action

We’ve been putting this product to the test for a whole month now and I am very impressed. Wyatt loves to talk about his mohawk, “Daddy cut it and Mommy styles it” he gleams. The smooth texture doesn’t bother him and he can touch it all he wants without messing it up. He actually loves to comb it! One mohawk even lasted through a whole naptime and bedtime! And, there was no flaky residue.

Let’s enjoy some Mohawk Summer Action:

I have so many more picture of the Mohawk but I thought I’d keep it short and sweet and to the point. 😉 This Styling Gel is our Ultimate Summer Essential for this rough & tumble two-year-old!

Yes, I just wrote a whole post about my son’s Mohawk #bloggermomsrock. But clearly, you can see that this kid needed one!

Don’t you think your kid needs a Mohawk now though? I mean seriously, how awesome does this kid look? This mohawk keeps us smiling all week which does make it a little easier for me to handle his crazy. I know the next mom I see with a kid wearing a Mohawk will get a high-five and a head nod from me! #imomsohard

I am beyond grateful for Cash’s Pre-school teachers and the experience he had his first year. He was the youngest kid in the building and he came out walking and talking like a Kindergartener… He still has 2 more years before he actually gets to go to Kindergarten though, since he’s still only three. In my humble opinion, I think he was prepared to start Pre-K so young because we had set up a Toddler Classroom at home, The Mess Mat, which many of you followed on Instagram with our Sensory Play and beginning developmental lessons.

Since Cash had entered Pre-K we really pulled back on the academic lessons at home so as not to overwhelm him. We did a lot more art and science while leaving the reading and writing to his new teachers. This change in my goals leads to a change in our Home School Classroom. In fact, now that Wyatt is also older, no longer a Mess Mat Baby, we’re graduating to bigger pieces of kid furniture. Many of these items overlap our previous Mess Mat structure, but they’ve been adjusted as you’ll see…

Setting up your Home School Classroom for Kids

Goodbye Toddler School! {as I cry a few soft tears acknowledging that my babies have outgrown it} and Hello to the Kid-Friendly version of a Home School Classroom where these Pre-K giants are free to roam the house and express themselves as they please… intellectually of course.

I requested this Art Easel for Christmas from the grandparents and it has not disappointed. We use it everywhere. Last summer for our Composting unit I moved it outside so the boys could paint their garden discoveries. Now that they’re older we use it to write names and words. I love that it is 2-sided for them and it is so lightweight that I can move it around all day!

Graduating from The Mess Mat brought us up off the floor and onto a Teaching Table. We’ve found a pretty awesome spot in front of our window to keep it. The boys do quite a bit here during the day and we’ve deemed in our Social Studies Center 😉

Occasionally we’re still on the floor, especially Wyatt. On the wall, I have a nice big Letter Line from Dollar Tree with the Alphabet and call it the Writing Center. The boys will use the Lap Desks with the Floor Seat {see below} and post up to do a writing activity. Our Easel is stationed in front of the Alphabet Letter Line too most of the day!

Floor Seat Back Rest

This beauty is a relic from our Mess Mat days where I would use it to be on the floor for Sensory Play. But now, since they’re so grown up, the boys prefer to use it in the Writing Station. They also use it to watch their Guitar Lesson Videos! I’m pretty glad I bought mine a few years ago. Everyone sort of looked at me funny when I asked for one, but as soon as they come over… it’s pretty obvious how much I’ve used it and how much it’s saved my back!

Storage and Organizing

My ultimate appreciation goes to my storage containers. These beauties have helped keep me sane for many years including those BK. {before kids} I use the storage tower in the former Mess Mat area which is now known as the Art Center to store all of our art supplies. The absolute best feature is that each individual drawer closes so that the supplies can travel around the house contained. The lid stays shut while the boys bring it over to the table or take it outside, etc.

Storage Bins

If you ever come over to my house you’ll see a ton of these, everywhere. I probably own 100+ and use them in the bathrooms, my office, the closets, everywhere. I love how the provide the perfect nesting area to stack them so they can stack high and still be controlled. If I had to pick one organizational favorite of mine for overall life organizing, it would be these bins! *And don’t forget your label maker! 😉

These products are all amazing and are available on Amazon. I obviously use them daily and am glad to review them on my own with my completely genuine opinion. I have included my Amazon Affiliate links to all of these products so that you too may begin building your Home Classroom environment. Thank you for reading!
