Here comes Amazon, Here comes Amazon, Right down my Driveway… It is officially that time of year when our beloved postal workers start clocking extra hours and we see the new hire faces. Rest assured, my Postal Worker Thank You Basket is ready and waiting.
Thank those Postal Workers
Before Thanksgiving usually, because I’m eager to spend money efficient like that, we have a surplus of packages arriving. I am literally a drive-through for USPS, FedEx, and UPS. I’m truly surprised they don’t just roll open their door, slow down a bit and chuck boxes onto my porch. Seriously, you’d think we were moving every December. The thing is, they’re doing this for EVERYONE. We’re all toasty warm on our screens ordering things that just show up without us having to brave the cold. Well, someone is braving it for us and those people are our Postal Workers

Postal Worker Thank You Baskets
I know I’m not the only house who receives a ridiculous amount of deliveries this time of year. Now, thanks to the Internet, I’m also not the only house who gives out a little THANK YOU gift for all their hard work. I’ve seen so many cute, nice and great ideas for Thanking our Postal Community. So, I thought I would share mine.

Holiday Porch Decor
Our Holiday porch always has four elements that are the same every year: The Chalkboard Easel that lives on the porch year-round, Letterboards, that haybale that arrives in October and then the TREATS.
This specific year we turned the haybale into a Reindeer bed. Cash was 5 and Wyatt was 3 so they loved the idea of giving the tired reindeer a place to rest when Santa was working. Shhh… the neighborhood cats eventually found it, slept there and left a lot of furballs, which the boys STILL think were left by Reindeer.

Chalkboard Writing| Decor Tutorials
You’ve noticed by now that we have several signs around and explaining our Postal Worker Thank You Basket. I’ve made tutorials for you to make your own chalkboard signs. I use transfer paper and chalk pens to trace and then fill in the letters. Find the Chalkwriting Tutorial HERE.

Letterboards & Signs | Porch Decor
I love my letter boards. You can find this bright white one on Amazon. I put my Silhouette to work for the Reindeer Bed and Treats cutouts. I then made a simple word document and printed it, then framed it in a Dollar Tree Frame. You can download my PDF sign below or create your own.

Holiday Treats
Whatever you give out will be appreciated, I’m sure. But a few things that my postal Workers have told me they like or need most are things like Handwarmers, Bottled Drinks, and a healthy, pick-me-up snack. We gave out Apples and Gatorade. You can be very simple or elaborate.

DIY Recipes
After you set our you healthy supply of drinks and apples {also for the Reindeer, obviously} it’s time for the goodies. You can buy some packaged candies, or you can get the kids involved with the baking. We’ve done both.
The Chocolate-Covered Stir Spoons are handmade and then wrapped. When you stir the spoons in hot cocoa or coffee the chocolate melts, making for an extra cheerful treat. Find that Hot Cocoa Spoon Recipe Here.
