Welcome to the Jungle or Let’s Get Wild! Whichever introduction you prefer for your Party Animal inspired 6th Birthday Party you’ll want to start everyone at a Base Camp Station.
Base Camp Station
As most Birthday Parties go, there is a welcome table that houses the party guests’ favors or *thank you for coming* something. For Cash’s 6th Birthday Party we used it for several reasons. First, it kicked off our Trading Post Station by giving the kids the supplies they needed to ‘play’ in Sloth Sanctuary. Once enough kids had arrived we reported to this Base Camp Station to go over the ground rules for the party and how to play in Sloth Sanctuary. They also collected the tools they needed

Party Favors
Typically I don’t do favors as part of my Party Budget Saving Checklist but this party was all about purging. {Which you’ll read more about later} So, each kid got a bag of *supplies* and *rations* as the party favors. Truthfully we had so much candy leftover from Cash’s 5th and Wyatt’s 4th Birthday parties that we bagged it all up and sent it home. Both bags, supplies, and rations were identically filled but this way I could tell them to take one of each. The label tags are available in my Safari Party Digital Download set on Etsy.
Sloth Sanctuary & The Trading Post

I have written a very long post about the Trading Post Station and Sloth Sanctuary, so I’ll be brief here. At the Base Camp Station, the kids learned how to act inside the Sloth Sanctuary by way of a Safety Check. I did a pop-quiz on a Sloth and how they behave. After passing the Safety Check each kid earned a few things to take with them into the Sanctuary. Each got a Ruck Sack {drawstring bag} to keep as well as tin pail for treasure hunting. I kept those for the next party…
Base Camp Structure
Once again all of the building pieces you see are from my Green-Eyed Girl Productions Styling Inventory. Along with all of my white crates, I have a large assortment of the rustic Apple Crates that I’ve been collecting over the years at Estate Sales and thrift stores. For this station, I also used my collection of vintage suitcases, many of which you saw I used in Wyatt’s Animal House Toga Party for his first birthday, College Penny Party.

I anchored everything down with my burlap curtains from The Mommy Made Boutique and my Wedding Showcases. They’re typically used as the backdrop for my vendor booth shows, but they worked perfectly here.

You’ll see a few Dollar Tree Safari Animals hiding here too and of course, the Parrot Puppet that we had to add for effect. The Base Camp Station was really built on the printed signs though. My burlap pinboard with the item menu to the Safety Check and Base Camp Signs really made this area.
