Welcome Back to Kelso Family Adventures with #MySweetandSticky! Today we’re reviewing our second trip to Bauman’s Farm in Gervais, Oregon. Cash and Wyatt experienced it for the second time, 2 years older and I want to share everything they could do at this Pumpkin Patch this go-round.

Bauman’s Farm & Garden
First let’s cover the basics: Bauman’s Farm and Garden is a MASSIVE October Amusement Park-type place where they’re open to the public year-round, but host a spectacular Harvest Festival through September and into October. Year-round, not everything from the Harvest Festival is open. This post is specifically sharing about the Harvest Festival. That last link there above is what I’ll be referencing the most in this post. These are the activities that Cash & Wyatt either did the most, liked the most, or were just the best on the itinerary. So here we go:
What can 4 and 5-Year-Olds do at Bauman’s Farm?
Bauman’s Farm in Gervais, Oregon, is a delightful destination for families, especially those with young children aged 4 and 5. This charming farm offers a variety of activities that cater to the interests and abilities of little ones, ensuring they have a fun and memorable experience. One of the highlights is the opportunity to savor Bauman’s famous apple cider donuts. These sweet treats are a hit with kids and adults alike, offering a delicious snack as you explore the farm.
For the more adventurous young visitors, Bauman’s Farm features kid-friendly zip lines that provide a thrill without being too intimidating. These zip lines are designed with safety in mind, allowing children to enjoy the excitement of soaring through the air under the watchful eye of experienced staff. Additionally, the farm boasts an array of play structures and mazes that encourage physical activity and imaginative play. From hay mazes to playgrounds, there’s plenty to keep little hands and minds busy.
Beyond the physical activities, Bauman’s Farm also offers educational experiences that can captivate young minds. Children can learn about farm life by visiting the petting zoo, where they can interact with friendly animals like goats, chickens, and rabbits. Seasonal activities, such as pumpkin picking in the fall, provide an excellent opportunity for kids to connect with nature and understand the food-growing process. Overall, Bauman’s Farm is a fantastic place for 4 and 5-year-olds to explore, play, and learn in a safe and welcoming environment.
4-Year-Old Activities at Bauman’s Farm
Wyatt was 4 years old for his last trip to the Harvest Festival. Right when you walk onto the property you’re treated by the buzz of the Bug Train which is a water barrel cart pulled by a huge tractor. This year he was much taller and more brave, so this was a must-do activity.
Bug Train: The Bug Train takes kids on a fun, bumpy, 15-minute journey around the farm and pumpkin patch. Ride a bee or ladybug.

Wyatt’s next favorite activity was the Zip Line. These are staffed with a ton of kind “big kids” and adults who made Cash and Wyatt feel safe. They wanted to do these a few times, they loved it so much!
There are a TON of activities a 4-year-old can do and there are plenty of playgrounds for rowdy boys. This time Wyatt skipped the activity zones for toddlers and went straight for the bigger stuff. He could, technically do everything they have to offer, but was more interested in the exciting areas. He was able to go to all these places and do these activities as a 4-Year-Old:

5-Year-Old Activities at Bauman’s Farm
Cash and Wyatt were both officially tall enough to do the Go-Karts in the big tent. They LOVED this the most and it’s a must-do for big kids. Some activities have a height minimum of 30″ (always refer to their website for official rules.) The Go-karts might not be offered every year, so be sure to check the website. They’re in the big tent!

Pumpkin Patch Photo List
So this year, with Cash’s new love for Photography, I added a fun little Photo Scavenger Hunt into our day. We went with their cousin and friends, so the kids all had fun taking their pictures throughout the day. I filled these snack bags with some snacks and a disposable water bottle (I learned my lesson last time.) Having been here before with toddlers, we lost our expensive water bottles. We also needed hand wipes, galore after those amazing Apple Cider Donuts, so each bag had some of those in it.

What to Expect at Bauman’s Farm
Plan for it to take the entire day. It’s not like your typical Pumpkin Patch where you’re in and out in a few hours… It’s an Amusement Park and they do a great job of moving you around it. They even have a few characters in costume walking around for photo opportunities!
- Not everything is included with admission. You have to pay extra for a few Activities.
- There are many things only open/running on weekends, so review their website before you go.
- There is a concession stand with great food and Apple Cider DONUTS! Huge hit and crowd-pleaser.
Plan to go on a Weekend so you get to experience as much as possible, but be there when they open and plan to stay until they close. It will take you all day, especially with toddlers.
