For Cash’s 10th (9 3/4) Birthday, he challenged me to create an entire Escape Room themed around Harry Potter. Obviously, I couldn’t do it without an epic Honeydukes Trolley Cart full of candy. You may have read that Clue 10 in our Escape Room was my favorite, and this is why! Not only did I get to buy a bunch of candy, but I also got to create a ton of vintage-inspired labels!

Honeydukes Trolley Cart
Here is all the “eye candy” for how the cart was displayed. I based the whole thing around my grandma’s old coffee cart, which I was lucky enough to inherit. Billy then put the peg board into this giant frame for me. It just so happened that I already made this peg board frame into a donut board. I bought these 4″ plastic pegs off Amazon to give it that softer candy store feel, as opposed to the hard metal. I also didn’t want one of the heavy metal ones to fall on a party guest if they were pulling on it.

Here is my Harry Potter Birthday Party List where you can find most of the candy and little containers I used, as well as a few display pieces. Everything else I bought at either Dollar Tree or Wal-Mart. Some candies I chose because they looked vintage or a little “magical” while others I had to find specifically for the labels I created.

What to Buy
The possibilities are endless, but I when for things that the birthday boy loved. Of course, we needed these blue Takis to be Ravenclaws… things like that. Get creative with your own ideas and labels.
The Liquid Luck- remember those wax soda bottles? Yep, I got those. They made for a great picture, but I wouldn’t recommend eating them. I found those and the Pollyjuice POtion drinks at Dollar Tree along with other times. Those Gummy Slugs are actually gummy bananas!
Our local Cake Shop, The Lovin’ Oven supplies this perfect cake. They don’t do custom cakes, but they were willing to “not finish” this cake for me and leave it with only the crumb coat. I was then able to write on it with green icing in the Harry Potter-themed font to match Hagrid’s famous cake from the movie. These little chocolate snowballs were also too perfect to pass up, so I wrote on those too! I actually used a clear circle sticker label so they were all uniform, and then stuck it on. You can’t even see it!
I bought mine in Walmart for much cheaper than the online price, but here is the Amazon link for Pink Hostess Snowballs so you know what to look for in the stores. I DID have to use some nail polish remover to take off the barcode/expiration date printing on the plastic for some of them, mostly to get them picture-perfect.
