I think I’m finally getting somewhere… Once again this month I produced no new content. But the rest of the blog got stronger. Last month I dove into some pretty heavy construction and completely repurposed the blog niche. I read more from other bloggers, and took a lot of advice, asked a lot of questions and made big changes to not only my blogs but my other {multiple} revenue streams…If you’re just joining in on this monthly income report series, my goal for 2016 is to expand this blog into a financial contributor so that I can stay home more and learn with my Hooligans.

I write 2 blogs, this mom blog {You’re here! Thanks!} and another blog for my career as a Wedding & Event Coordinator, which you can find HERE. This report is a combination of the two blogs. Truth be told, it IS wedding season right now, so I am busy with my in person clients {really busy} so blogging is taking a back seat for the next few months. I’m actually heading out the door for a rehearsal right now! #ALLSummerFridays

The punch line for the year is to:

SEO Remix
What is SEO? Search Engine Optimization. There are these things called KEYWORDS that when people type them into a search bar, if your post, site, etc is rich with them drizzled throughout your content you’re going to come up higher in the search results. Moreover, if you repeat the same keywords in your introductory paragraph and throughout your conclusion, you’re even more likely rank higher in that keyword’s specific search. Did my super layman’s explanation loose you? Yes.. me too a little bit! SEO is a huge deal to blog and internet businesses.
I don’t understand it either… but I know it is important. I relied on other, Smart Mom Bloggers to get me there and share their information with me. In fact, one of my fellow Blogger Moms wrote a book!
Blog by Number from Suzi over at StartaMomBlog.com wrote this pretty awesome eBook that covers so much about blogging. Even if you have been blogging for years and you’re well into “starting” your blog {like me} you’ll be surprised at what you still have to learn. Suzi covers Pin Optimizing, Templates, Title Ideas and so very much more. She also provides you with beautiful worksheets, road maps and more, useful, understandable information for those of us swimming in the internet ocean without a boat.
It’s worth it. Check it out. You’ll see results! EBook-

Last month I annihilated my pages… added new one, altered others, delete a few. Here are the changes I made in May and the further changes I made in June:
Page Demolition- I added new, marketable “Department” style pages {Read my Department Store Blog Metaphor in May’s Report}. {Many are still under construction but they will be awesome soon!} These pages had very little views according to my stats and didn’t even link to blog posts. {Products in the Department} In June: I rewrote searchable page descriptions so that not only can you find my blog POSTS on the internet, you may also find my pages.
Department & Product Marketing- [Read as Page & Posts] I went back through my blog and redid some of them. I rewrote their search descriptions to include SEO keywords. I updated images to be more Pinterest ready. I am seeing pins repined way more often and that good ole’ content is finally being seen! {Thank you group boards and Tailwind!} I also rewrote many individual pin descriptions to have better SEO.
Etsy SEO– I have 2 Etsy Shops, one for the Event Planning side of my life The Vintage Event, and another for the Mom Blog Side, Cotton N Kandi. In the Event Shop, I sell wedding planning digital workbooks and in the Mom Blog Etsy Shop I sell crochet kids’ apparel, organizing labels and sensory play kits. I am not about to dive into all the ways you can improve your Etsy SEO, but here is what I did:
Side Note: Another thing I did in June {while not producing new blog content} is I published a real book… 109 pages. I wrote a Wedding Planning book this month which took a lot of time. But it is also earning me revenue online on Amazon and Etsy too!
Sales Goals
Tradesy: June Report: $292.06 This is where I sell my wedding supplies. You can sell your clothing and maternity clothes too. Not to mention buy pre-loved items at great costs! Join and start selling your stuff too. Here’s a $20 credit off your first purchase just for you!
Etsy: The Vintage Event– June Report: $382.96 Goal surpassed! I sell my vintage and digital downloads here.
Etsy: Cotton N Kandi– June Report: $92.00 … This is the Brand for the Mom Blog where I sell my home school ideas, downloads and crochet. I sold several baby hats in the summer even!
