Planning Cash’s 8th birthday party was like stepping into the vibrant world of Pokémon, his favorite thing right now. Picture this: our patio turned into a lively Trainer Gym, buzzing with fun and excitement. We set up five stations, each focusing on a different Pokémon type. These spots kept them moving from one challenge to the next, sharpening their Pokémon skills and fueling their imaginations.

Cash 8th Birthday- How to Throw a Pokémon Training Party
Get your Trainer Name & Scorecard
As each young trainer showed up, they got their own “Trainer Name,” a cute detail that added a bit of magic to the day. We made these fun signs to make sure every kid felt like a real Pokémon master. Along with their new name, they got a Pokémon Trainer Scorecard. A cool token that made them feel part of a special team. Catch’em All Punch Board
The excitement hit the roof when we introduced the “Gotta Catch ‘em All” Punch Board. Watching the kids punch through cups was pure joy. Their eyes lighting up when they found out which Pokémon they’d train.
Months before, I got creative, writing game descriptions and designing table setups to make our vision come true. Now, all this hard work is available in a digital bundle for other party planners. This bundle has everything from the fun name signs to the Table Activity instructions for a perfect Pokémon-themed party. Personal touches, like creating “Trainer Names” based on birth months and initials, add extra charm to the celebrations.

Pokemon Traing Table Stations
Our five training tables were the main attraction, each representing a different Pokémon type: Water, Fire, Psychic, Electric, and Grass. We carefully planned activities at each station so every child could jump in and have fun.
The Fire Table had them knocking down a tower with yarn balls, a fun challenge that brought out their inner Fire-type Pokémon. The kids eagerly lined up, ready to test their aim and channel their fiery spirit. Each successful knockdown was met with cheers and laughter, as they competed to see who could topple the most towers. This energetic activity not only kept the kids engaged but also sparked friendly competition, adding to the day’s spirited atmosphere.
To enhance the Fire Table experience, we included a special twist: a leaderboard where trainers could track their scores. This little addition added an extra layer of excitement, as the kids vied for the top spot, eager to prove their mastery over the Fire-type Pokémon skills. The key to the Training Stations was electing a Gym Coach (Adult) at each one, to sign off on their Scorecard, proving they passed that table station.
The Psychic Training Table
At the Psychic Table, kids folded their own origami fortune teller, wondering what cool questions it might answer. This activity sparked curiosity and imagination, inviting the young trainers to explore the mystical world of Psychic-type Pokémon. Each fold was a step into the unknown, as they crafted their paper fortune tellers with care, eager to see what mysteries would unfold. The kids giggled with anticipation as they took turns using their creations, asking questions and revealing playful predictions about their future adventures.
To make this experience even more enchanting, we provided a selection of Pokémon-themed questions and fortunes. Would they catch a rare Pokémon this year? Which Pokémon would become their loyal companion? The possibilities were endless, fueling their imaginations and adding a magical touch to the day.
The Psychic Table wasn’t just a place to make stuff; it turned into a gateway to creativity and magic. As the kids shared fortunes and talked about their Pokémon. It got pretty silly over here, of course, making the Psychic Table a favorite part of Cash’s birthday bash.
