Fun Fact, a Concession Stand makes a GREAT Party focal point! The kids loved it for Cash’s Pokemon Birthday Party. I also got to get all “punny” again with the Pokemon Party Food Ideas.
For Cash’s 7th Birthday we went the Movie Night route, complete with a Concession Stand and Projector Screen Theatre. Cash’s Birthday is in July, so the weather is perfect for outdoor movies.
Movie Night Concession Stand
If you remember the Ice Cream Shop Adventure of 2019 you’ll recognize this beauty, which was easily converted. For the outdoor theatre bought all of our equipment on Amazon, including this fancy OPEN sign that really brought it all together. I had it turned off right up until the movie started {and all us moms frantically popped microwave popcorn inside}

Concession Stand Party Food
Obviously, it’s a popcorn bar because it’s a movie theatre party, but the snack trays made it that much more fun. I bought these along with just about everything else at Dollar Tree.
Once again I got to flex my pun-muscles and name food, which I LOVE. This is what we came up with:
- Charmander Chips = Doritos
- Squirtle Water = Bottled Water
- Pikachu Punch = Squirt, Yellow Gatorade & Sprite
This party was very lowkey compared to most since we were in the heart of Quarantine. I bought a variety of snacks that matched the color scheme as opposed to naming a bunch of things. I also liked either the shape or title, as in SNAP’d on those Cheez-its. Which I think gave it that Pokemon Battle vibe. Everything we just wanted to keep yellow, red, blue, and black.

Most of my party decorations you can find on Amazon. I made a list for not only Party Decorations but gifts as well. Find it all HERE: Pokémon Birthday Party Decorations & Gifts on Amazon
You can find even more for the Concession Stand and all the electronics for our Outdoor Theatre on my Amazon list for Outdoor Movie Theatre | Projector Screen

I think the Popcorn Salts really made the night. Most kids had never experienced them before and kept going back for more. We also did a #7 Piñata while we were waiting for the sun to set and the screen to get dark enough. These little yellow treat bags are actually EMPTY and were then later used to fill up after the piñata. So, kids got their fair share of popcorn and piñata candy for the movie.
From the Etsy Shop, The Vintage Event, you can find the:
- Concessions Banner- Ordered in Royal & Red
- Energy Cupcake Toppers & Pikachu Cake Topper Kit
- SALT BAR Mini Banner
- I then made all of the Labels for the treat bags and food labels myself.
