Cash 8th Birthday- How to Throw a Pokémon Training Party
From Pikachu-Peep Pops to Pokéball Salad, every item is designed to dazzle and fuel young trainers. These treats are crafted with love, adding a playful vibe to the celebration. It’s a culinary adventure that’s both fun and fulfilling for everyone involved.
Pokemon Party Food Ideas
While planning the menu, balancing fun and practicality is essential. I strive for each snack to be easy for little hands to hold while embodying Pokémon’s spirit. These themed snacks excite the kids and keep them energized for a day packed with activities. It’s all about making memories with every bite.
The main attraction is a simple green cake from Roth’s catalog, originally a soccer field. I ask them to skip the plastic soccer goals. Instead, I add cake toppers from an Etsy shop and a few little toys. It’s a charming centerpiece that captures everyone’s attention.

I’ve been planning this next treat for ages. I stock up on Peeps at Easter for this very reason. With an edible marker set from Amazon, I draw arms and cheeks, transforming them into Pikachu. Add a colorful straw and a little plastic candy wrap, and voilà—a Pikachu Peep Pop!

Additionally, Charizard Pizza Pockets are a fiery hit with the kids. The secret ingredient? A dash of red pepper for that extra “flame.” We’re all about hot, convenient appetizers. I love how the polka dots and colors come together. Not the healthiest, but definitely fun!

Our Caterpie Fruit Chow offers a refreshing twist with a vibrant mix of cut fruits.
Snivy Snacks are the punny vegetable cups, balancing out the food groups. It’s a creative way to add some healthiness to the table.
Hyper Potions Italian Soda Bar
For drinks, we stick to our tradition of an Italian Soda Bar. It’s a hit at Wyatt’s Floor is Lava Party, and now at Cash’s. We craft Hyper Potions, themed around Pokémon. It’s a fizzy, fun way to keep the energy up all day long.

Food planning begins months ahead. We had to bring back Sticky Fingers Cotton Candy—this time in yellow bags for Jigglypuffs. Pun achievement unlocked! She’s a small business right here in Stayton, Oregon. She spins her sugar all over the area for parties, events and special orders.
Pokeball Salads
The final item to “round out” our menu is “Cash’s Famous Salad” Pokeballs. Cash loves salads in his 8th year, so we feature it at the party. Celebrating the man of honor means highlighting what he loves. I serve them in epic-sized toy balls resembling Pokeballs. I wish I had snapped photos of guests munching on them—what a missed photo op! We also serve them in plastic mason jars with a special Cash tag.

As the day wraps up, we gather to sing “Happy Birthday” and munch on Pokémon-inspired snacks. Jigglypuff Cotton Candy Bags, Charizard Pizza Pockets, and Caterpie Fruit Chow delight the kids as they share stories of their exciting adventures.
As with all Kelso Parties, we conclude with a Projector Movie in the garage. The boys-built Ice Cream Stand transforms into a Concessions Stand. I use my favorite snack caddies and popcorn salts to sprinkle one last dash of joy onto my first baby’s 8th birthday. Thanks for joining this delightful journey with us!
