January is all about new beginnings and a fresh start, maybe even a fresh planner 😉 I spend the majority of my month planning the whole year. I put together new checklists and schedules for everyone. But while I’m doing that there are plenty of other things to do. Let’s cover all the things to do in January:
Things to do in January
January is a big month here on the blog. Between settling after the holidays and heading full speed into Wyatt’s birthday, I’m doing a lot of restructuring. Mom Winning comes easy this month, but it also flies by. Here are the 20 Things at the top of my January To-Do List:

January can be a refreshing and productive time to focus on personal goals and family activities. Here are some ideas for moms to make the most of the first month of the year:
- Set Personal Goals: Reflect on what you want to achieve this year and set some realistic goals.
- Organize Your Home: Tackle one room at a time to declutter and organize your living space.
- Plan Family Activities: Schedule fun activities or trips to enjoy quality family time.
- Create a Budget: Review your finances and create a budget to manage expenses better.
- Start a New Hobby: Dedicate time to start a new hobby or revisit an old one.
- Exercise Regularly: Develop a fitness routine that you can stick to throughout the year.
- Read a Book: Choose a book you’ve been wanting to read and set aside time for it.
- Meal Prep: Plan and prepare healthy meals for the week to save time and eat better.
- Connect with Friends: Schedule a coffee date or virtual meetup with friends you haven’t seen in a while.
- Self-Care Day: Dedicate a day to pamper yourself with a spa day at home or a relaxing activity.

In January I always evaluate my Mom Block Command Center. It has really evolved over the years and tends to move around the house. Reading my old blog post I realize how much I need to update it, so maybe I’ll add that to my January Bucket List. 4-5 Create a Budget & Have a Hobby- Making Mom Money
Per usual, I hit the ground running in January with a LOT of financial goals, Etsy goals, and blogging goals. Billy and I just went over my giant bookkeeping spreadsheet and the numbers were exciting to see for 2019, especially last October {Thanks Team!} But of course I just see areas where I need to improve. A few years ago when I embarked on this whole new career path of a blogging income I tracked my progress for the year. If you are tackling a new WAHM path you can read about it and follow along with the huge steps I took month by month, starting in January to forge your own path… In my first year, I made $9,335.46 online. Fast forward three years and I just closed out 2019 at $40k+ for online income. A journey I think might be worth following if you’re interested.

This year I’m hoping to add Poshmark to the mix. Really only to clear out my old clothes and maternity clothes. I spent a ridiculous amount of time last summer trying to sell baby clothes for only $0.50 in garage sales which consumed my weekends and nothing. Nobody came or wanted to buy them. So I’ll try the online game this year and see where it gets me. We’re going to Disneyland again so I’ll take all the spare change I can get!
