We kicked off our day by sleeping in and then made our way to an awesome geothermal wonderland where the ground literally bubbles beneath you. Geothermal Park Hveragerði opens at 9 AM, but if you’re like me and my boys, you’ll love taking it easy in the morning after a few hectic travel days. Thanks to some online research, I had another bucket list item to check off: hard-boiling an egg in a geyser.

We were in Iceland for a family wedding afterall, and tonight was the night most everyone arrived. This was the hosted Welcome Dinner Night for the Wedding festivities. The Ingólfsskáli Viking Restaurant is not your average dining spot. Picture a longhouse setting, complete with wooden beams and flickering candlelight. It’s like stepping back in time, and the kids will feel like they’re dining with real Vikings.
