Wyatt’s Favorite Usborne Books |3 Year Olds

We have been avid Usborne Books buyers since 2015 when I was first introduced to our Usborne expert, Chrissy Howard. Ever since then we’ve hosted an annual Usborne Book Party at the beginning of the year when all the new titles comes out. This year is no different other than, Wyatt is turning FOUR! I still can’t believe it. I have always dedicated so much of my Usborne attention to Cash and his love for Science Books, but now, Wyatt is a book worm too. It can be hard book shopping for 3-year-olds because they either love everything or nothing. So I thought I would take a quick second to interview Wyatt about his Favorite Usborne books as a 3-Year-old, which he was happy to do!

Wyatt’s Favorite Usborne Books

So to begin this interview I had to pull down all of our Usborne Books, which was a task in itself. I then asked Wyatt which books were his favorite from this HUGE stack. I’d pull one out and ask, “DO you like this one?” and after about 23 YES! answers I had to pick a different strategy…

Wyatt’s Favorite Book to read to himself

This one is actually a tie between two of his favorite books which still live in his book bin next to his bed. That’s Not my Pirate and That’s Not my Panda. The Panda book we have had since our very first order with Usborne back in 2015. As you can tell Wyatt has put some mile on it, but for good reason. The “That’s Not My” books are a tactile series that kids love to touch and feel. Each page has something fuzzy, furry, bumpy, smooth and so on. Wyatt can absolute sit still, as he has for years with these books and just feel {or chew on} the pages. I recommend any of these books for kids from babies to toddlers.

I would love to point out a super fun fact about Usborne right here… They offer a 1/2 Price Replacement fee for damaged books! So if I wanted to replace this well-worn Panda book I could buy another one for 1/2 price at any time.

Wyatt’s Favorite Book Picture Book

When I first saw the book Above & Below, I honestly thought of my husband Billy. This book teaches kids about animals that live in different habitats “Above & Below” the surfaces. There is a river page and my husband grew up on a river, we now live on a river, so therefore I had to have it. The boys both {all three} love this book and they always ask dad to read it to them. The pictures are beautiful and most night my boys just want to look through it like an I Spy book.

Wyatt’s Favorite Lift a Flap Book

Usborne has this incredible line of books called, Lift a Flap Books where kids can learn more information under specific graphic on a page. We may have too many of these to choose from but Wyatt has a certain love for trains. So this is his jam! Most of our informational books are about Science since they’re an upper-level reader and Cash loves them. But Look Inside Trains is the first one I bought for Wyatt and he’s obsessed. He doesn’t even need to read all the words because under the flaps there are more images too. For example, the outside of a train lifts up to reveal what it looks like under the surface. Wyatt LOVES to count all the people that each train can squeeze in!

Wyatt’s Favorite Read Aloud Books

I confess these are my favorite read aloud books too… Both of the Dinosaur Books, I’m a Dirty Dinosaur and I’m a Hungry Dinosaur are favorites in our house and we’ve even done literacy lessons with them {Dirty Dinosaur Comprehension Lesson} but the Hungry Dinosaur is Wyatt’s Favorite because he too is always hungry and also loves his cake. The pictures are beautifully done by hand and they’re used REAL mud and/or frosting to illustrate the pages. They have a unique and fun sing-song prose and rhyme to them that all kids enjoy. Everyone should own these!

Wyatt’s Favorite Bedtime Book

I asked Wyatt, “Of all these books, which one do you want to read before you go to bed?” And his answer was predictable because I know how much he loves it, Animally. This is the sweetest book to read right before bed too. It used descriptive ways in which you can love someone, Bravely, Calmly, Boldly and relates it to animals, Hugely like a Whale, Busily like a Bee. Until it finally lands on the last page where it ends with a sweet rhyme you’ll have to read to find out 😉
